What Is A Poster Paper?

Poster papers are a relatively new component at PNSQC. An author displays a graphic or pictorial version of a technical topic in an area set aside at the evening social event and during the technical conference. The poster should not be too dense with technical details — it should offer the audience visual clues to help explain the topic to the people who stop by. A free standing, 5’ X 3’ board is provided to each author to post the poster paper.

The public (during the evening social) and conference attendees (during the conference) mingle with the author and the other poster paper presenters directly in an informal setting. This gives the author a chance to speak intimately with other quality-minded people with slightly less effort and formality than refereed papers require.

The primary poster paper author receives a discounted admission to the 2-day technical conference.

How Do I Submit My Poster Paper?

Submissions for poster paper abstracts, as well as subsequent drafts and finalized versions of the poster papers are uploaded and managed through the PNSQC 2010 CMT submission website, just as they are for technical papers.

What Does It Mean If My Poster Paper Abstract Has Been Accepted?

A first draft of the poster paper, in PDF format, is due on July 15. This draft should be 1-5 “poster” pages in length, with the purpose of aiding in the process of explaining your topic to those who stop by to listen.

A PDF of the final poster paper is due on September 15. You are responsible for bringing the hard-copy version for posting on the boards at the social and the conference.

We will be publishing the final version of the poster paper on the PNSQC website. You may make last minute changes to the poster paper presentation, up until November 1, 2010.

Do I Have To Attend The Conference To Have My Poster Paper Accepted?

Yes. You or a designated presenter must agree to be present at the conference to have your poster paper accepted.
