PNSQC is managed by a seven-member board elected by the voting members at the annual meeting in November. Board members serve a three-year term. The terms are staggered so that only 2-3 board members are elected in any given year. The board elects officers at a meeting subsequent to the annual meeting. The board and other active volunteers conduct their business at monthly business meetings that generally occur on the second Friday of the month. See the events calendar for specifics. Tim Farley has been in software quality assurance for over 25 years. He has led teams working on a wide range of products, from critical medical devices to mobile apps. Tim first presented a paper at PNSQC in 1996 about creating “intranet” sites, which has since proven to be a pretty good idea. Tim has degrees in Computer Science and Anthropology from Brown University.

Doug is a Software Quality Functional Manager for Tektronix Inc., in Beaverton Oregon. Doug has worked for Tektronix the past 22 years. He holds a Master of Computer Science and Engineering from Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), a Master of Business Administration from George Fox University, and a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology from Oregon Institute of Technology (OIT). Doug has presented at PNSQC on four different occasions and has assisted with the Exhibits Committee, Selection Committee, and Review Committee. Doug has also served a PNSQC Secretary and Treasurer.

Rachel started her testing career as a business tester at a credit card company in Tigard and fell in love with it. She has enjoyed strong relationships with many project teams over the years helping them to understand their impact on their end users. Her thirteen years in software testing has been divided between four years in the transportation industry and nine years in the banking/credit card industry. Rachel has traveled to many interesting places in the pursuit of training and testing: Vizag, India, Chicago, and New Jersey. Leading teams of various sizes over the years has provided Rachel with a natural tendency toward mentorship and training. She has been involved with the PNSQC for three years now and has thoroughly enjoyed learning from and with everyone.
In her free time, Rachel organizes and participates in hikes throughout the beautiful Northwest. She is also an avid cyclist as well as a runner/walker.

Bill brings 17 years of software development, process improvement, project management, quality, and requirements management experience covering banking and business applications. He has been involved with PNSQC for several years, first as a speaker, then later as a volunteer. In addition to being a board member and treasurer, Bill is chair of the Operations and Infrastructure Committee and a member of the Program Committee.

Brian brings to PNSQC over 20 years of software testing and quality assurance experience relevant to telecom, enterprise metadata, government, multimedia, healthcare IT and marketing platforms. Brian has spoken at Seattle quality meetings many times and was an invited speaker at the PNSQC 2016 Conference. In additional to local involvement in software quality assurance groups, Brian’s other interests include playing live music and supporting animal rescue shelters in the Pacific NW.

Lloyd Bell is a 20 year veteran of software and hardware testing and development. Lloyd has experience in game design, voice acting, test management, has been a producer on multiple game titles and has also started a 3rd party customer service and testing lab. He has recently worked with Microsoft on the Connected Experiences team and has led teams to help with the release of Microsoft’s day-one launch of the Windows 8 and Windows Phone platform. Lloyd is currently working at CrowdCompass by Cvent as the SR. Manager, Quality Engineering. CrowdCompass helps organizations make their conferences, meetings, conventions, and trade shows a lot more popular through the power of mobile event apps. They have developed thousands of apps for events of all sizes and industries each year. Lloyd has been a resident of Portland for the last 5 years.

After working in various management and technical positions in software development and product management, Philip Lew leads XBOSoft’s (xbosoft.com) direction and strategy as CEO. His Ph.D. research in software quality and usability resulted in several IEEE and ACM journal publications and in various trade journals as well. A speaker at numerous trade and academic conferences, he has worked with hundreds of organizations to assess the quality of their software, examine software quality processes, and set forth measurement plans to improve software quality using systematic methods.
