To improve quality and velocity, our Client wants to transform its large IT organization consisting of several hundred Developers and Quality Assurance testers from a Waterfall, mostly manual test approach to an Agile methodology adopting CI/CD pipelines and test automation.
The challenges presented by this effort included organizational change as a key obstacle to overcome. We needed to up-skill more than 100 manual testers and show them how they can actively participate in the test automation process.
We also needed to work with the “development pods” to test below the UI and look for alternative agile test approaches that would provide a higher velocity feedback loop; to think in terms of defect prevention and not just defect detection using processes such as team-based backlog grooming or even Behavior Driven Development techniques.
