The COVID19 pandemic is disrupting life to an unprecedented degree. Decisions about how to respond to the pandemic, what interventions to make, and how to change public policy are informed by computational models. Those models involve a great deal of software that needs to undergo scrutiny. This paper will present an overview of computational epidemiology models and tell the story of testing of IDM’s Covasim model. This will include discussion of testing scientific software and efficient test case design.
