In analogy to Software as a Service (SaaS), I think Software Testing as a Service (STaaS) will be a next step in the field of test services. Why?
The drivers for SaaS adoption are also applicable to STaaS. The traditional rationale for outsourcing of IT systems is that by applying economies of scale to the operation of applications, a service provider can offer better, cheaper, more reliable applications than companies can themselves. The use of SaaS-based applications has grown dramatically, as reported by many of the analyst firms that cover the sector.
In the presentation, the presenter will share his perspective of the STaaS variants of the SaaS drivers, talk about the advantages of STaaS, and explain how STaaS could look like in practice and why it will work. For now; think of it as large virtual (digital) cupboard where clients put in their testing jobs, brokers distributing these jobs over the available testers and returning the results to the clients (all over the internet).
